The Dark Knight Bat Suit

Universal Desgin, a costume/prop commission site, has license to create official Batman Begins and The Dark Knight products. The most eye-candy in my opinion is The Dark Knight's suit replica, designed with road approved body armor. It comes with with everything except for the mask and cape.

I got no love for cosplays, but this is epic.

Salsa Night

Every tuesday night at Establishment Bar is Salsa night and I went there with my dancing friends but unfortunately I had to leave early. Starts off at 8pm where the "teachers" basically begins the night off with some basics then after a few rounds of tought dancing, you'd be now left to keep the night going on your own. Since its salsa, you'd be either partnering with friends or any strangers. I left at 9:30 but from what I've heard, peak-hour is about 11pm where the club just fills up what little spaces are left.

This was my first time to a Salsa club and overall it was alot of fun, I would have liked to have stayed much longer but I guess till next time.

internet?!

On the 24th, 2 days ago, there was a power outage in my suburb from like 5-9ish so that was a dark boring ass night. When the power came back, the internet wasn't working, so the router was reseted and reconfigured but my laptop still wouldn't connect. Everybody else in the house could, I don't know why I can't. I tried plugging the router and modem directly into the laptop and still wouldn't. I don't understand why it doesn't work. Atm its tuesday and I am at uni and the UNIWIDE is working for me so.. I don't get it... why internet at home isn't working for me.

TRON Legacy

Well Comic-Con is just around the corner but nothing has exactly cought my interest yet except now, the 'teaser' trailer for TRON Legacy, the sequel to 1982 Sci-Fi movie.

I watched TRON on the movie channel a while ago and was abit suprise I was actually able to sit through the whole thing, I thought I'd be disinterested by its ya know.. being an old film but proved wrong.

To sum up the story, guy goes into the computer and in the cyber world must defeat the main AI computer and play through some retro "video games".

Concept was cool and definatly a big contribution to the Sci-Fi genre.

Without further ado*, here's the trailer shown in Comic-Con

Semester Two

Had my first classes today and this is going to be an interesting semester, not only am I focusing completely on Mechatronic topics but I only average out to about 10hrs class-time per week as opposed to last couple of semester where I had about 25-30hrs of classes.

Afterwards went to Mac's for the first time in weeks but since its Uni time, I'd be going there more often now... nothing to be proud about LOL

40 Years Since Apollo 11's Moon Landing

With the 40th year celebration of the moon landing, space related stuff has boomed specifically from Discovery Channel and National Geographic Channel. They are all verying interesting stuff and I wish I can somehow keep and rewatch most of the programs aired. Other channels which I don't have are also showing similar stuff namely BBC Knowledge and Discovery Science.

Mini Review: The Hangover

Finally watched this movie, had high expectation because of Old School and the concept/trailers were just so good. The movie really delivered, it remined me of 'Harold & Kumar going to White Castle', a series of WTF events over and over again in near real-time.

Four friends go to Vegas for their mate's bachelor party, over night they wake up not remembering a thing and found that the groom is gone and then a whole lot of shit happens.

Recommended for people who has enjoyed such MA15+ comedy movies

I give it 4 drugged shots out of 5

Self-Serving Checkouts

'Tech... kinda... alittle bit of spamish'

Woolworths trial self-checkout technology

These checkouts are in the woolworths I go to and I think they're great. I use them when I want to buy a thing or two and just wanna get in and get out. Obviously when I buy too much stuff I'll use the normal checkouts so I don't handle all the stuff.

Today however, I saw that the Westfield Coles also has these Self-Serving Checkouts... and I noticed, its exactly the same as the Woolworths one but red...

'Aren't Woolworths and Coles like in a war or something, why are they exactly the same!?'

Theres only three reason why I think they're 1 to 1 alike;
1) The Self-Serving Checkout interface is owned by someone so Coles bought it cause they can't design their own
2) Coles wanted customers to be familiar with the technology so they made the interface same as their competitor
3) Coles and Woolworths are working together to bring down all local outlets

Sony Mice

Was going through Engadget and saw this neat looking Bluetooth mouse.
'Tis so nice so nice'

It then brought me attention to another sweet Sony product, the VAIO Mouse Talk which doubles as phone. I think it was released in the Mid-2006 so its discontinued now.

Transformer Designs

This should be my final post relating to Transformers ROTF cause yeh, getting abit tired of it.

I did enjoy some of the designs for the transformers, alot of it from Constructicons

Arcee

Demolisher/Scavenger

Mixmaster

Rampage

Sideswipe

Sideways

Overload

This concept art just surfaced on the net of the Decepticon Overload who didn't exactly appear in the movie.

Skywarp

This transformers wasn't made for the movie but the game I think but I like this design to the current Starscream with the lengthy shoulders

Mini Review: Transformers ROTF

I'm never going to watch a normal movie in IMAX again, unless I get perfect seats.

Top 5 Pros' and Cons'

'I'm reviewing as an old-school-Transformers fanboy and one that hated the first movie'

Pros
- Decepticons were given alot more lines and character development, mainly Megatron and Starscream
- Jetfire and Ravage were the coolest, Jetfire cause his a Blackbird and Ravage cause his Ravage
- Other cool transformer designs were the constructicons (EXCLUDING Devastator)
- No annoying human characters
- Soundwave although really only as a cameo(fan-service) character

'Some people are still complaining the fact that Soundwave isn't like a Cassette/CD player although I'm quite happy he was a satellite rather than a car of some sort, I mean come on, satellite, telecommunication, sound-wave, it works'

Cons
- Crappy action sequence, mainly the melee fights where the shots were close-ups
- Optimus Prime was abit out of character, ie "No Mercy" "Head Shots" "PWNAGE"
- Autobots get no character development
- Skids and Mudflaps were just not funny/interesting
- Recycling, ie same constructicons everywhere, Blackout reused but defined as different character, Bonecrusher reused and dozens of Decepticons in Protoforms

I give it 2 dead Optimus out of 5

EasyWay Jay Chou

'because EasyWay is always in front of JayChou PX'

To start it off, I had terrible seats, I went with my family and from where we were located I can assume that they got the tickets pretty late 'but when I first found out about the concert tickets were already sold out so still good I guess'. We sat in 'mountain seats' in the furthest corner, ie behind the stage and projector screens... worst.

The concert however was pretty good 'although theres really no way to rate concerts so yeah'. I consider myself as a casual Jay Chou listener, not a complete fanatic and therefore abit selective on what songs I like from his collection but he did sing a few of my favorites so I was all good.

'There was so much mando, I had no idea wtf their saying.. just smile and nod'

There were like special guest performing aswell but I had no idea who they were. I got to give props to the stage dancers as well as I can see them pretty much performing the whole night in varies of styles from HipHop to Latin and everything in between. Ofcourse man of the hour '3-4hrof it' is Jay and his influence on so many people, the audience was just so into it that its just a amazing. I had to mention I was his performance with the Guzheng, the chinese string instrument, I have huge respect for chinese culture and it was just a nice touch.

There was also a proposal on stage and was a sweet thing to see... if only I knew what they were saying the whole time.

All in all, great concert.
'Wish I had a view though'

Relieved that its only my left arm

My left arm is cramppingly painfull at the moment. Yesterday I did go rockclimbing with some uni friends but I doubt that was the cause.

Lets see, you can easily make ur foot cramp by making ur big toe as low as you can with respect to the foot palm. When it happens, to fix just stand up straight and put pressure onto the foot.

'But how to fix the cram located in the area between your elbow and hand?'

The Elderly

Today I went with my mother to visit Bernard Chan Nursing Home which is a nursing home for the elderly 'I think mainly chinese people'. My mother and a group of her friends from the Chinese Opera school she goes to went to visit and sing to the residents and I went along mainly for the purpose of transport.

Being in their presents, my feelings were mixed and was confused with my morality. Their motor skills were obviously not too great and most of them were not exactly in a cheerful state. Its nice to see such a place that takes care of these people but I can't help to feel that they'd all be alot happier with their family. My grandma lives with us and she's a very active senior for 94 and the fact that we're all with her on a daily basis should be a positive thing.

As my mother has said to me, parents lovingly raised their kids and hope that they themselves wouldn't be forgotten and also cared about once their old.
