No Title, Tuesday

Actually, there really isn't anything else to say about bowling... I bowled, I got sick and failed.

For AUNSW, gaming session was on today again, featuring the Gamecube with Smash Bro's Melee. Next week featuring Xbox(360?).

AUNSW art session is on tomorrow from 3-6 at Goldstein G04, which is next to the QUAD. I'll be trying to finish some of my drawings

I'm Sick

I think it all started during the Earth Hour Festival when I spent most of my time video recording the stage from afar with the cold wind constantly blowing at me. I didn't bring a jacket or run around the place like my brother to keep my body heat up so yeh.

Then on the next day I went bowling. Not exactly sure how that would effect me but I guess I just needed the rest. After the first round of bowling my head just started to hurt alots.

This pain went throughout till today so yeh, I went home early.

Earth Hour Festival

Well, just got back from an AUNSW event and will talk about it tomorrow but for now, clearing things about Earth Hour yesterday..

Willoughby City Council was hosting an Earth Hour Festival in Narrenburn Park which featured community shows and stalls about environmental stuff. My job was to help set up, pack up, and during the festival I did mainly stage filming.

I don't know what to talk about the festival, average turnout, maybe because it consist people who lived around the area. The main stage which had nothing to do with Earth Hour, except for the drumming count down for turning the lights back on at 9:30 but failed, the lights were the field lights but they take a while to power up so timing was all wrong.

Some other things I might want to yack about later on just so I don't forget, RE5, DaylightSaving, Dexter...

Sixty Minutes Earth

Today I'm doing my part for Earth Hour by turning my lights off, because I won't be at home, and work at an Earth Hour event for Willoughby Council. I know very little about this event because my brother just tells me "Your working!?", I don't even exactly know what I'm doing...

Well, at least I get paid, about $30 per hour, for 10 hours... that comes to erm...
...
$300, neat

Wacom... amazing... and expensive DX

INTUOS3

I recently sold my Intous3 Tablet hoping to get a new and more updated one and a few days ago, Intous4 was released.

INTUOS4

It looks so much slicker and a few more button features, very nice.
I think the circle thing is like the oldschool ipod spin thing but I'm just guessing here.

CINTIQ12

But I am still hoping to get the Cintiq12, which if you didn't know is an 'on screen' tablet unlike the other two.

price range from (AUD)
Intuos3 - $570
Intous4 - $600
Cintiq12 - $1700

Dragon Ball KAI

Dragon Ball is being aired again on 5th April.
This was announced ages ago but a friend of mine brought it to my attention.

With the Dragon Ball: Evolution, produced by FOX, releasing soon, this is about the only thing to keep the DB franchise alive...

The new series would be a re-edit of the old series so I'm not too sure about it being like a complete remake of the show.

Guess we'll see in a week
Although I'm not too fond of that picture, it just doesnt look right.

More Uni Stuff

Slow day, nothing too interesting to talk about...
Got a test tomorrow so don't really have time to like write a good blog.
MMAN3200 Linear Control system...

Another thing to point out, the MMAN3300 test I had two days ago, apparently the it was a complete one to one copy of the 2007 paper, figures hasn't changed. So students who had the 2007 past paper had like OMG advantage...

RAGE!?

Be Nice Please ^_^

News has it that a student at Massachusetts' Academy of Notre Dame high school, whose part Animal Rights Club, has complained about the game 'Call of Duty: World at War' for having the players shooting dogs. She says that this may encourage people to think doing such acts are fine but seriously, would we? Many gamers think this is silly, just like the Resident Evil 5's rasict issue.

She has petitioned about 100 of her classmates and has also cought the attention from PETA.

She says "My little 12-pound Pomeranian, Winnie the Pooh, is sitting next to him, and I'm thinking, 'This looks horrible!' My brother is a sweetheart. He won't be killing dogs after playing. But some people might."

MMAN3300 Mechanics 2

Well, that Mechanics test was annoying...
I can't remember the last time I had a multiple choice quiz, and the problem is that in Engineering, all we do is math work and if we happen to make little stupid mistakes, we may get some marks from using the right formulas and whatnot, thats the problem with Multiple Choice test, its either a 1 or 0 for each question.

On a lighter note, tomorrow from 3:00pm - 5:00pm at ASB220, AnimeUNSW is hosting the weekly Gaming Session. Apparently its the only club at UNSW that actually involves gaming, from cards and board games to PS3 and Xbox360.
I'm providing the Wii to tomorrow's event

Well, plan just to rest it tonight, out.

If they were mine, I'd name them ******************

I was thinking if I should post during the weekends but it seems like I'm going to blog daily, which is a pain but I guess thats only a problem when you post meaningfull things which I'm not.

So this is a blog, daily rant about nothing really.

Well my 3rd brother recently got himself a pair of ****** and this would be the first time we had a pet in the house in years. The problem is that my brother isn't the most responsible person, in fact, quite the opposite, his always out and hardly at home. I've always complained about having pets at home but not because I don't like them, its because taking care of them is such a handful. Right now I'm worried about them being starved to death or something, I only hope my brother can take care of them.

First Slice

My slice of life is usually about anything else that doesn't fit in my other categories but today I don't have anything too interesting to say. Only that got my first ENG Mechanics 2 quiz test on monday so I'm just studying over the next few days.

From what everybody has said how hard Mechanics 2 is, going to this first test I hope I can do well. All I know that its going to be an EPIC PAIN

Anime: Sword Impulse Gundam MASTER GRADE

I was going to wait for the next day to do a post but I just found this and must post

Sword Impulse MG
EPIC EPIC EPIC WIN!?

http://www.amiami.com/shop?vgForm=ProductInfo&sku=TOY-GDM-0323&template=review.html

Games:ミュートマイクUSB

"Don't want people to hear your terrible karaoke singing or don't want to be a bother to people in the next room? Then buy the "Mute Mic USB" for the Wii"

I don't think this is a NINTENDO trademark item but with all their "unique" peripherals over the years why not.

So I guess this is the type of game where you play alone, with a cup in your mouth.
Does that look normal to you?
You can remove the cup and use it as a normal USB Mic but then I'd suggest get a normal USB Mic.

I give it 1 cup out of 5 for its sucess

in case you are interested, here's the link

Movie Review: Planet of the Apes (2001)

I saw this movie on channel Seven the other night and wasn't expecting much cause I heard isn't good.As the intro credit rolls, I saw it was directed by Tim Burton.Usually I might research a movie before I see it but this so happen to show on TV so I was unprepared to like WIKI it or something.Anyway, with Tim Burton titled, I thought "So is this going to suck" cause he makes pretty good movies, what with recent 'Charlie and Chocolate Fac', 'Sweeny Todd' and upcoming 'Alice in Wonderland'

[SPOILER STARTS]

Movie starts off with your space station doing deep space research with then leads one thing to another, having the main character Capt Leo Davidson, played by Mark Wahlberg, heading towards an anomaly to save his pet ape or something. He then ofcourse travels through time, ends up in the future and crashes down onto an unknown planet.

'Your doing it wrong'
He then encounters humans and apes in an all out confusing and gets cought by the apes. When jailed with a couple of 'damn dirty humans', one being your typical blonde chick, he encounters a she-ape who for some reason really really likes humans.

'Damn his a fine looking human'
The she-ape helps release the main character and the blonde chick, at then which the civilised space man starts to make a break for it, bringing with him the blonde chick, her family and the she-ape. He goes back to his ship to get supplies, a tracking beacon to find help and a gun which gets broken in 3mins. They get to a ship, apparently its the space station at the start of the movie. Supposingly, when he took off to rescuse his pet ape, the space station decided to follow, which like him crash landed on the planet but apparently didn't go through time.

'A man's only as big as the weapon he carries'
In any case, the space dudes and dudettes on board then gets over runned by the chimps and chimpettes and there you go, thats how the planet was infested with apes and humans apparently EPIC FAILED IT. The main character then does an uninspiring brave heart speech to his 'dirty humans' and fight with the army of apes heading their way. Eventually his pet ape, who is the only one that ever make a safe landing, shows up and stops the fight between humans and apes.

'Where is the rebel base?'
The main character then gets on the ape ship and leaves without him to head back through the anomaly hoping to go home. He gets to earth and see that everything in apes now, everything looks modern but just ape-man everywhere. THE END

I've seen the old school 1968 Planet of the Apes, and the difference between this and that one was that humans can't talk in 1968, 2001 they can, the famous 'damn dirty ape' was changed to 'damn dirty human', 'damn them all to hell' was said by an ape instead of a human and the planet was not earth in 2001.

[SPOILER ENDS]

Character
Your main selfish character that can't do anything unless his got a gun, no development from start to finish
Your main human chick, that does nothing but kisses the main character in the end
Your main bad guy who will never have a change of heart
Your main ape chick that has no explaination for her love for humans and also kisses the main character in the end
Your other apes who goes from evil to nice so quick and easy
overall, bad character development all around

Story
Way to many plot holes that makes no sense
Humans that can talk and stuff and still fail at everything
Unexplained ending, just made no sense
Can't remember them all...

Action
Its about as much as you can get from ape hand to hand combat
Alot of wire jumping for the apes

Final Thought
In the end, it tried to take on a different approach the planet of the apes story but causes more questions and headaches than answers. Not sure if it was trying to be realistic. The movie wasn't too bad, definalty not a highly recommended movie. Costume and makeup was top notch though. Its a movie that you wouldn't mind going through if your bored but would cause you to complain about crappy characters and story.

Overall, I give it 2 damn dirty apes out of 5

Arthur (Afa, Afa2005, Afa_one, Afa_05, Afa05) Yine Hea

Well, I've decided to start using Blogspot now, after trying other online journal kind of things for the past couple of years...

Started off ages ago in Deviant Art where my user name was Afa2005.
I guess I signed up at 2005. Although I cant remember why I signed up, I don't think I was into anime/art yet at that point in my life, odds.

Since then I've tributed 05 as the year I graduated from Highschool to any possible user name I can have when "Afa" is taken.

I then in no particular order, signed up in Tagged (FAIL), Facebook, Livejournal and Xanga.

All social network service above I've abandon ages ago, somehow didn't suit any of my needs.
My longest run would've been Xanga which I did like 'Blog' per sa, but interface was crap.

Now I've created this new blog site. Yine Hea Works
Mainly focusing on my art works I produce everynow and then and anything else I'd like to blog about. One major different approach I'm taking with this Blogsite is that I'm going to be more formal but not without alittle fun every now and then.

Like I said, this blog would mainly contain my art works
Here are the list of stuff I'd be blogging about;
-Artworks
-Anime
-Uni
-Engineering
-TVs
-Movies
-Games
-Slice of Life
